St Michael and All Angels

St Michael and All Angels

Old St Michael’s is an Anglican church, built in 1914. In 1962, the building was moved aside to make room for the present Anglican church, and later the old church was moved across the road into the grounds of CEAC, the Corban Estate Arts Centre, where it was restored by the Henderson Heritage Trust during 2007. It is no longer used as a church, but is available for hire for weddings and all kinds of functions (through CEAC).

One such function will be a meeting of the West Auckland Historical Society with a talk by local historian Lisa Truttman – author of the Timespanner blog – on June 15, at 7:30 p.m., on the subject of Timber’s Fortune — Extracting the Riches of West Auckland Kauri through Henderson’s Mill.

  1. What a beautiful old wooden church. Here in England I really do not think that there a many, although as I write this I can think of one around a mile away.
