This transformer at the intersection of Triangle Road and Elder Place in Massey (map), was decorated by Dan Mills. It depicts a number of New Zealand native birds (Harrier, Pukeko and NZ Wood Pigeon above, and more as indicated on the captions below, walking counterclockwise around the box).

    Goodness, I suddenly feel so dumb — I’ve never even heard of most of these birds before. Gorgeous painting. I wish our utility boxes were painted like this.
