Te Henga Wetlands

I stopped on my way back from Bethells Beach, to have a look at the expansive wetlands in the lower Te Henga valley. It is winter, and the reeds are showing their seasonal (dis)coloration. We are looking towards the west, behind the ridge is O’Neill Bay.

This is a haven for water fowl: various kinds of ducks, swans, pukeko, etc.

  4. Looks beautiful.

  5. Nature photography at it’s finest. This is an outstanding photograph deserving of an honored place on a wall — printed large!!!

  6. This is near perfection, Paul. What a good combination of landscapes you have captured here. And look at the array of greens that your eye has included. The reflection is nearly secondary to the shape and colouring of the image as a whole. Good choice. I think this to be an excellent shot.

  7. We frequently head out to Bethals. My son and husband enjoy going up and down the dunes. I manage only doing it once.

  8. Such a wonderful view!
    Best regards from Argentina

  10. The colour, play of light and reflection here is simply wonderful.

  11. It is such a dreamy place… It looks just my mountains in the Cantal in France… And the reflection is beautifully catched… Great sharing indeed ; I just love it !
