This prow (of a traditional Maori canoe) is part of the Memorial Square, New Lynn,between the Public Library and Lynnmall. Carved by Matariki Carvers of Te Kawerau a Maki, the local Maori Tribe. The wood is totara, the main wood used in Maori carvings; set in stainles steel.
