New Years Day, New Year’s Resolutions — may all your hopes and wishes come true!

This mask, laser-cut in stainless steel, featured in an earlier black and white post. Designed by Ryan Callanan, inspired by Maori patterns. The view above shows the mask on our black dining table in natural light, below is the original image of November 28, taken in the afternoon sun on a white table.

The CityDailyPhoto theme for January is “Photo of the Year 2010”, and the original image of the mask is shown below as “Photo of the Year 2010”. My best? — Certainly the most unusual amongst my images. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

  1. I love that mask! It looks great on the black table, but the original is special – an almost surreal effect.

    Happy New Year!

  6. This is a very interesting mask; the original shot is doubly interesting because of the shadow.
