Spinifex sericeus

Spinifex sericeus

Spinifex sericeus is a NZ native dune grass, resistant to the adverse conditions of coastal environment. It is strategically planted to prevent erosion of the dunes. The seed balls shown here will eventually separate from the plant and be blown, tumbleweed-like, along the dunes and beaches.
