Wrapped - by a Nursery Web Spider

Nursery web spiders (Dolomedes minor) are masters of wrapping plants in their silk, in this case a fern shoot. The purpose is to provide protection for the egg sac, and a safe environment for the newly hatched brood. You can clearly see numerous spiderlings in the picture.
