Aotearoa — Land of the Long White Cloud

Long White Cloud

Long White Cloud

The most widely accepted Maori name for New Zealand is Aotearoa, often translated as “Land of the long white cloud”.

The other day when I was on top of Mount Albert, I caught sight of that cloud, as shown above. Obviously, there were a few other clouds casting their shadows at the time.

  1. I love your long, white cloud, Paul, and your gorgeous blue skies!! What I wouldn’t give for some more of those like we had yesterday!! But they’re gone today and we’re back to GRAY! Terrific capture as always! Have a great weekend!

  2. What a great view!

  3. Corgeous fluffy cluds with flat bottoms. The clouds and sky are a lovely contrast to the dark green foliage. So this is what Auckland looks like from above!

  4. Wonderful shot. Happy SWF!
