One of the innovations of mayor Len Brown are his “Mayor in the Chair” sessions (from a press release: “I’m going to get out into the villages of Auckland, and touch base with the locals. I want to get a good, first-hand feel for the people and the issues of different communities, in their own words”). Last Friday he visited Titirangi, where there was a small crowd of people eagerly awaiting their turn. (Even some media eavesdropping — WTV — in this instance.)
(Incidentally, the security person on the left guards the entrance of a bank — not a ‘minder’ of the mayor.)
Len Brown’s “100 projects in 100 days” are a symbolism for action — let’s hope for some enduring actions of substance in the remaining time of his reign.
