Built as Auckland’s Chief Post Office (completed in 1912, designed by government architect John Campbell — a far cry from Ministry of Works architecture of the 1960s on), this building got transformed into the face of the Britomart Transport Centre and won numerous design awards and accolades for heritage-friendly refurbishment. It opened in 2003, after being closed as Post Office in 1992, then falling into disrepair, with eventual resurrection as Britomart Transport Centre.

That’s great, the new is reflecting the old.
This building is quite impressive in its ancient touch… Thanks for the discovery.
