Basket Fungus (Ileodictyon Cibarium)

We saw several of these when we did the Mount Auckland Atuanui Walkway. They grow like puffballs on the ground – this one would be about 10cm in diameter – then the skin bursts and reveals this pretty structure. (But they are smelly.)
