Signs of Spring?

Tui in the Tui Tree

Tui in the Tui Tree

While the country is reeling under wintery storms, a few of the prunus campanulata (Taiwanese cherry, “tui tree”) are already out in full bloom. And the tui (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae) love it, of course, feeding on the nectar of the blossom.

Super capture. The blossoms are lovely and the birds feathers shine; he ‘s a bit of an acrobat.
