Throne (Peter Brierley-Millman)

Capturing the morning sun and facing the city, this gigantic throne by Peter Brierley-Millman is crafted from Monterey Cypress and conglomerate rocks. Surrounded by gorgeous wood, it’s quite a special sensation to occupy this space.

Another of Peter’s works was shown on this blog on October 5, 2011.

The Harbourview Sculpture Trail is open from 10 to 6 each day, from March 3 to March 25. Set up by Te Atatu Business Association with support from Auckland Council, to enhance the environment of Te Atatu Peninsula and as a fundraising opportunity for Hospice West Auckland.

Harbourview Walkway is located on Te Atatu Road with the entrance to the Right at the first roundabout (Gloria Ave) as you come into the peninsula, just a short distance from the Northwestern Motorway. There are 45 artworks on display, beautifully set out in the wetlands.

Entrance $10 Adult, $5 Children 5 to 12, Under 5’s free. Seniors and groups of 10 or more $9 each, Family group $25.
