Coral trees (Erythrina spp.) are not native to New Zealand, but they are fairly common, not only in parks and gardens, but also in the environment. They are in flower at the moment in brilliant red.
Whilst I am celebrating the flowering plants at present, I have to say that the temperatures are often still quite low, and the weather only occasionally acknowledges that this should be spring. When the sky is as blue as here, I am not complaining.
