The Sixpack (officially known as “Silo Six“) is a cluster of cement silos in the Wynyard Quarter, preserved as a memento of the industrial heritage of this area of reclaimed land. Currently (until February 26) it houses part of the Summer of Sculpture (the exhibition of outdoor sculptures continues to March 15). An interesting space, and not all of the exhibits are at home in this environment. My favorite is Phil Dadson’s work of video and music performed with water and stone – impossible to capture as a photo, and taking full advantage of the sound qualities of the space.
It does not happen often that the silos are open, so make the most of it now.
