Treasure House, Titirangi

The Treasure House is part of the Lopdell Precinct, Titirangi. I was built in 1926 to house the “finest collection of kauri gum in the world”. (Lopdell House opened as “Hotel Titirangi” in 1934 – “in the Blue Mountains of Auckland”.)

In the course of redevelopment of Lopdell House, this building also got a makeover, and now it looks beautiful and houses again the wardrobe department of Titirangi Theatre.

An extensive writeup with pictures of the inside of the museum can be found in Timespanner’s blog post of July 28, 2013.
