This month’s window display at Te Uru Contemprary Art in Titirangi: “Gilded Blessing” by Eve de Castro-Robinson and Sarah Guppy.
Eve is a composer and Sarah an artist/painter/gilder. Eve’s Facebook page has this explanation:
Gilded Blessing is a collaborative work, which can be presented as an audio-visual installation. In its original manifestation, the suspended gilded cello with a built-in speaker emanates a distorted recording of cello music, when activated by passers-by.
For Te Uru’s Window, it is presented in its pure form.
The cello is a Chinese ‘Blessing’ brand, gilded by Sarah Guppy.
Very eye catching!
