This huge mural by Owen Dippie faces the railway line in Railside Avenue, Henderson, by the level crossing into Bruce McLaren Road. It is the rear of The Kitchen Centre.

Bruce McLaren (1937-1970) was a New Zealand race-car designer, driver, engineer and inventor. At age 22 he became the youngest driver ever to win a Formula 1 race.

How interesting that the painting on the corner seems to look flat.

  3. Very realistic and sympathetic portrait. Of course I ran to Wikipedia to see why he died so young. As I suspected–a car crash. Pity. Thanks for contributing to this week’s Monday Mural. Hope you’ll contribute to this meme again.
