Saddleback Song (Charles & Janine Williams)

A mural in Poynton Terrace by Charles and Janine Williams, created in the 2014 All Fresco Festival (K-road Business Association). This bird is native to New Zealand, and major conservation efforts have taken place to bring its conservation status from ‘rare and endangered’ to ‘at risk – recovering’.

You can hear the song of North Island and South Island saddlebacks here (search for “hear the song”).

  1. That’s a very creative mural. I love the music coming out of its beak. I hope the saddlebacks come back.

  2. The call is so distinctive and unusual. Love the public awareness message of the mural and the representation of its song. Good luck with the campaign. Thanks for contributing to this week’s Monday Mural.

  3. That’s impressive.
