Zac’s Leap
My tribute to all calendar makers and whoever else leaps about!
Grandson Zac shows how it’s done, while his Omi proves she is no slouch either.

Love in Store
Love inside the Art Gallery Store overpowers the reflections of Kitchener Street outside.
Pukeko
The pukeko (swamp hen, porphyrio porphyrio) wanted to go to the other side of the sports field, and quick!

Barnes Dance, Queen and Victoria Streets
The intersection of Queen and Victoria Streets is controlled by a system called “Barnes Dance“: all traffic lights switch to red, and pedestrians cross in all directions (also known as “pedestrian scramble”, “X crossing”, “diagonal crossing”). Named after traffic engineer Henry Barnes who first introduced this method in Denver Colorado in the 1940s.
It can get crowded in the centre…
Keziah and Ethan in their Pod
The glistening pod down at Lynnmall is eye-catching and the icecream they dispense is yummy!
Keziah and Ethan have run this pod since December and are all smiles. The concept of Pride and Joy is a franchise model aimed at empowering people to develop business skills from small beginnings.
You wanted to see the ice-cream? I have eaten it!
The Shiny Pod
Moth
This beauty got disturbed when I opened the window and flew right into the handbasin. (No idea of ID.)
Alpacas
From a visit to Waitakere Alpacas (formerly of Waitakere, but relocated to Monk Road, South Head, in 2007). Cuteness.

Horses
As you drive out Henderson Valley Road, you may well encounter riders on horseback along the way. Next to this transformer box (painted by an unnamed artist) is the Henderson Valley Bloodstock and Stables, with the Henderson Valley Pony Club close by.
