The Peg Parade

An exhibition opened on Saturday morning at the Upstairs Gallery, Lopdell House, Titirangi. We were on our way up to the rooftop terrace when we got caught in the crowd on the first floor – and squeezed in as well. A crowd of children and parents, young and old, engrossed in hundreds of exhibits, entitled “The Peg Parade”.

300 wooden pegs were handed out to children at local schools and kindergartens, with the brief to turn them into characters of their choice. Such was the echo of the community that adults also wanted to take part in the action. In the end, a total of 244 exhibits graced the walls.

In support of the children’s charity KidsCan.
